Flemming's Brithday, Dec. 1

       I just wanted to share another cultural experience I got to enjoy the morning of Flemming's birthday. Laila woke us all up, except for Flemming, at 7am. She had already laid out a huge breakfast feast with all kinds of rolls and breads, cheeses, jams, chocolate, tea, coffee, hot cocoa, and so much more. We each grabbed a Danish flag and the paraded into Flemmings room where he was soundly asleep. we surrounded his bed and woke him up by singing him the Danish birthday song, which is a lot longer than the american one, and he looked thoroughly humiliated. then we all went to eat breakfast, and Flemming got to open all of his presents before we started eating. It was a really cool experience. They always make you open your presents before the meal instead of after. Flemming had a really nice day, and he got his favorite dinner for dessert.
